| Trullo
Mancaversa: known by the inhabitants of Taviano as "Baccaversa" (meaning turned over boat).
Mancaversa is characterized mainly by a low cliffline in which small wet beaches can be found on the clear sea. At a short distance (roughly 1,5 km) you can find the beach "Lido Pizzo", natural reserve Punta Pizzo, considered by LegaAmbiente to be the seventh most beautiful beach of Italy (Corriere della Sera 8th of august 2004).
Mancaversa is a very peaceful town for who wants to have a relaxing vacation, focusing on nature, local gastronomy and relaxation. The town organises numerous events during the hot summer evenings, like village parties, exhibitions, shows, outdoor cinema, sporting events and concerts.
A holiday in a "trullo" is a unique and fascinating experience. These structures were built in the early 1700’s by the inhabitants of the Salentine peninsula as a point of reference for their holidays at sea.
The trullo is meant for those who wish to pass their holidays immersed in nature, falling asleep to the sound of the crickets, enjoying the beautiful star covered sky. At the same time, all primary services and the sea are at a distance of roughly 1,5 km.
