Gallipoli, on the Ionic sea, is found on the western shore of the Salentine peninsula, in the Gulf of Taranto.
A characteristic of the city is its clear division in two parts:
the "old city " and the "new area ". The storic center is filled with antique contructions and is located on a calcium island connected to the mainland with a walled bridge.
Around the year 1500 the great perimiter walls were built, to withstand enemy attack, adjusted in height, towards the end of the 1800’s, to reach the current panoramic road, which encircles the whole island, allowing views of the fantastic scenery.
The apartment is at roughly 50m from the sea (cliffside sea), 600m from the storic center and roughly 600m from the most beautiful beaches in the Gallipoli area, characterised by beautiful equipped beaches with parasols, deckchairs, restaurants and pizzerias.
At roughly 50m from the apartment you can have a beautiful walk on the promenade, where you can find bars, stands and fairs for children open until late at night.
